Long Wittenham Primary School is a vibrant rural primary school in South Oxfordshire, located at the foot of Wittenham Clumps and between the towns of Abingdon and Didcot.
At Long Wittenham School we show our love through kindness, determination and curiosity, strengthening ourselves and our community.
We offer an ambitious curriculum, a staff team willing to go above and beyond and a values-led school community with a strong caring ethos.
Pupils’ excellent behaviour and positive attitudes lead to good pupil outcomes and high levels of engagement with learning. We are well-supported by dedicated governors, enthusiastic parents and the wider village community.

New data protection regulations
From 25th May 2018 there were changes made to the current data protection regulations (GDPR). Long Wittenham Primary School regards the protection of personal data relating to staff, children and parents/carers as a very important matter. On the school website, in accordance with best practice, we have published our updated data protection policy and Pupil Privacy notice. The Pupil Privacy notice outlines the pupil information that we collect, hold and share including the lawful basis about how we use this information. If you would like a printed copy of the data protection policy and privacy notice please do not hesitate to contact the school office.

Wrap Around Care: Breakfast Club and After School Clubs
We offer a Breakfast Club and After School Club, Monday – Friday, run by the school
Breakfast club is from 8am – no need to book!
After School Club is until 4.30 or 5.30pm. Book regular or ad hoc sessions by contacting the school office. Activities include homework sessions, art and crafts, cookery, book club, board games and more…
Childcare Vouchers are accepted for both Breakfast Club and After School Club.
We also offer after school activities on a termly basis, including Football and Gymnastics.
Forest School
Our unique setting enables us to benefit from Forest School sessions as part of our wider curriculum. Nature makes us relax, builds our resilience and often makes all that surrounds us more meaningful; we feel more at peace. The children at our school are privileged to spend quality time outdoors through Forest School and under the guidance of our Forest School professionals.
We are a nut free school.
Families please note that we are strictly a nut free school. Please ensure that no nut products are brought into school or included in packed lunches (even on school trips). Please also ensure that no nut products are consumed within the school grounds at any time of day. Thank you.

Term dates
Children need to arrive for school to start promptly at 8.50am and the school day runs to 3.20pm. A typical week amounts to 32.5 hours.

Inset day: Tuesday 7 May (No pupils)
Half term: Monday 27 May – Friday 31 May
Term ends: Thursday 23 July – 1.30pm
